CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan, Aug. 11 -- With the culture, traditions and flavors of at least six Asian nations as its main highlight, a first of its kind theme park will soon rise in this renaissance city to give quality family entertainment not only to the people of Bulacan but also those from other provinces.
The construction of the Chimera Land Theme Park will start immediately following its ground-breaking ceremony along the Macarthur highway in Barangay Sumapang Matanda here on Friday.
Malolos City Mayor Christian D. Natividad, together with Bulacan First District Rep. Jose Antonio R. Sy-Alvarado and Bulacan tourism officer Dr. Eliseo dela Cruz, who represented Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, joined Chimera Land theme park owner Tess Sta. Ana, her children Carlo, Christian and Teresa in the dropping of the time capsule containing the blue print and plan of the entertainment complex during the ground-breaking ceremony.
Alvarado later told local newsmen that the theme park will not only boost the tourism in Malolos but will also generate jobs for the people of the city and nearby towns.
Sta. Ana echoed the view of the governor, saying their human resource management team is now beginning to hire and screen would-be personnel of the Chimera Land theme park.
She said they will prioritize giving jobs to Bulakenyos because their family comes from the coastal town of Obando.
Mayor Natividad, for his part, said that this business endeavor will help boost the tourism potential of the renaissance city of Malolos because of its rich cultural ties with other countries even before the Spanish colonial period.
“People won’t have to go to South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Thailand. They will just have to visit the Chimera Land theme park when it opens by December this year,” Natividad said.
According to the Sta. Ana siblings --Carlo and Christian—the theme park will have an airplane at its entrance where visitors can board and have photo opportunities before descending on the compound of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
Visitors will have the opportunity to taste the flavors and the culture of said nations after alighting from the “airplane at our gate which will have its own “flight attendants and pilots," they said.
Sta. Ana added that it will be built to suit the needs of students because of its educational package tour.
She said that Chimera Land theme park will be bridging dreams and reality as it aims to be the first sustainable theme park in the Philippines.
“First it was only our dreams but its now becoming real. Dreams are bound to get real, just believe in the love of God. Just follow your dreams,” Sta. Ana added. (PNA)
