MANILA -The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) closed Kennon Road, one of the three major arteries to Baguio City, to traffic Friday night due to expected heavy rains that may be spawned by Typhoon "Jolina".
In a statement, DPWH-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) said Kennon Road will be closed to vehicular traffic starting 8 p.m. Friday as expected heavy rains of "Jolina" in the coming hours might trigger landslides or rockslides.
Motorists going to and from Baguio City are advised to take Marcos Highway or Naguilian Road.
Meanwhile, all national roads and bridges in Northern Luzon are passable to all types of vehicles based on the 5 p.m. situational report of DPWH Region 1.
The department's District Disaster Team is prepositioned to monitor the status of the respective road lines for the possible effect of the typhoon. (PNA)
