8 domestic flights cancelled due to bad weather Tuesday

MANILA -- Eight domestic flights were cancelled Tuesday due to bad weather, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said.

These flights were:

PAL Express (2P) 2014/2015 Manila-Tuguegarao-Manila
2P 2041/2042 Manila-Caticlan-Manila
Cebu Pacific (5J) 504/505 Manila-Tuguegarao-Manila
5J 196/197 Manila-Cauayan-Manila

State weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that as of 11 a.m., tropical depression 'Kiko' has slightly accelerated moving towards extreme northern Luzon at 17 kph.

'Kiko' was last eyed at 350 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan and has maintained its strength of maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 65 kph.

Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within 300 km diameter of "Kiko". The agency also noted that sea travel is risky over the eastern seaboard of northern and central Luzon.

Meanwhile, northern Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands and Batanes are still under tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1.

PAGASA earlier cited that "Kiko" might exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday evening. (PNA)
