MANILA -- Philippine and American government representatives will hold a press conference on the recently concluded "Tempest Wind" anti-terrorism exercises Tuesday afternoon.

This will take place at the National Defense College, Honor Hall in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, said DND public affairs office chief Arsenio Andolong.

Background briefing will be conducted by lDND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and US Ambassador Sung Kim.

"Tempest Wind" is a bilateral, interagency counter-terrorism drill was designed to test and improve the ability of both nations to rapidly plan, coordinate and conduct counter-terrorism operations.

It took place in various locations in the Philippines and Hawaii last week.

Andolong earlier said "Tempest Wind" was approved by the Mutual Defense Board and Security Engagement Board (MDB-SEB) of both countries in November 2016.

The exercises aim to provide realistic scenarios on terrorism that will necessitate both high-level engagements and responses on a tactical level. (PNA)
