MANILA – A total of 48 lawmakers at the House of Representatives have signed a resolution demanding the immediate resignation of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board member Sandra Cam and the initiation of contempt proceedings against her.

Representatives Arnolfo Teves, Danilo Suarez and Ace Barbers led the filing of House Resolution 1777, demanding Cam's resignation for exhibiting "unruly behavior" during a congressional hearing on the use of small town lottery (STL) operations as front for illegal gambling.

The resolution said that Cam accused Teves of being involved in STL operations during the Feb. 28 House hearing. Cam also resorted to name-calling, yelling, and shouting.

"Aside from accusing a member of this House of alleged wrongdoing, Ms. Sandra Cam called Hon. Teves names, and was yelling and shouting at the latter," the resolution reads.

It added that Cam hurled more "contemptuous and threatening remarks" against Teves, noting that she also "verbally abused" Suarez.

"Such unruly behavior of Ms. Sandra Cam is a direct affront to this institution," the resolution said.

Apart from the resignation call, the lawmakers also urged the House of Representatives to initiate contempt proceedings against the former jueteng whistle-blower. (PNA)
