CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- Three drug suspects were killed while six others were arrested in the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign in this province on Tuesday.

Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, acting Bulacan police director, identified the fatalities as Kervin Balagtas, who was included in the drug watchlist of Barangy Atlag in Malolos; Ruel Barcelona; and an alias Michael.

The slain suspects allegedly fired their guns in their bid to elude arrest after transacting with lawmen but were eventually neutralized in the exchange of gunfire.

Bersaluna said Balagtas was entrapped in Barangay Matimbo in Malolos around 7:15 a.m. and recovered from him a .38 caliber handgun and 10 plastic sachets of suspected shabu; while alias Michael fell in the drug sting in La Poblacion, Barangay Muzon in the City of San Jose del Monte around 3:20 a.m. yielding a .45 caliber pistol and eight plastic sachets of suspected shabu.

He said Barcelona encountered law enforcers in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pungo in Calumpit around 2:05 a.m. and recovered from him were three plastic sachets of shabu, a nickel-plated Smith and Wesson caliber .38 revolver with bullets and the marked money.

Meanwhile, Bersaluna said six other drug suspects were arrested in police operations in the city of San Jose del Monte and the towns of Hagonoy, Baliwag, Sta. Maria, and Plaridel.

He identified them as Alnor Bangon y Marsangca alias Ura; Julius Dela Cruz y Javier alias Louie; Crispin Samson y Gabon; Reynan Dela Cruz y Santa Maria alias Renan; Gina Bugay y Pia alias Gina; and Christopher Galvez y Vergara.

Confiscated from the arrested suspects were a total of 19 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and drug paraphernalia. (PNA)
