SEC sets up online kiosks for business registration

MANILA -- The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Thursday announced the availability of on-line kiosks that allow faster and trouble-free registration of new corporations, partnerships and associations, to enhance ease of doing business in the country.

The SEC has put up this month several facilitating automated system transition (Fast) Lane kiosks in its head office at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City, as well as its satellite offices in Metro Manila, and its extension offices in key cities across the country.

“The Fast Lane online kiosks were put in place to assist new registrants and to show them how easy it is to use the online registration system as they can replicate the process in the convenience of their own homes and offices. All they need is a stable internet service, and of course, the information they will be inputting into the system,” SEC Chairperson Emilio Aquino said in a statement.

The SEC said there is a need to facilitate the transition from its previous manual registration system to an automated one.

Earlier, its online company registration system (CRS) encountered problems, especially in the filling up of corporate information; unstable internet connectivity; storage and other system readjustments.

The online kiosks will be manned by Fast Action Service Teams (FAST), which will provide advisory assistance to new registrants, with priority given to those applications filed in June and earlier.

SEC has extension offices in Baguio City, Tarlac City, Legazpi City, Cebu City, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro City, Zamboanga City, and Davao City.

It has satellite offices at the Muntinlupa City Hall, SM North Edsa, Ali Mall Cubao, Robinson’s Galleria Ortigas Center, SM Manila, and SM Mall of Asia. (PNA)
