P1-M drugs seized from big-time drug pushers in Cavite

BACOOR CITY, Cavite - Police have arrested three suspected big-time drug pushers in front of the Quintana Hotel along Bacoor Boulevard, Barangay Bayanan here after yielding about PHP1.028 million worth of drugs during buy-bust operations Thursday night.

Supt. Vicente Cabatingan, Bacoor City police chief, on Friday identified the suspects as Ronel Depas Exequiel, alias ‘Nel’, 35, a driver from Sto. Niño Compound, Barangay Moonwalk, Las Piñas City; Jackylyn Paller Yosa, alias ‘Klen/Jacky’, 37 of Barangay Talon 3, Las Piñas City; and Vergilio Lakalilaw de Mesa, alias ‘Atoy’, 44 also of Barangay Talon 3, Las Piñas City.

Cabatingan said the drug enforcement unit (DEU) team, led by Chief Insp. Ruben Ballera Jr., conducted the drug buy-bust operation with a policeman poseur buyer, who managed to buy the illegal drugs.

The suspects used a blue Adventure car without plate number during the “transaction” in front of the Quintana Hotel.

This prompted police enforcers to swoop down on the drug peddlers and seized three more pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected ‘shabu,’ which have a combined weight of around 151.3 grams worth PHP 1,028,840; a black body bag; and a white Samsung cellphone.

The poseur buyer also confiscated around 60 pieces of PHP1,000 bills as ‘budol-budol’ (counterfeit) money during the entrapment from suspect Exequiel, who connived with suspects Yosa and de Mesa during the transaction.

The police drug enforcers brought the suspects to the Bacoor police station in Barangay Talaba for investigation and proper disposition while the confiscated pieces of evidence were submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory Office in Imus City for chemical analysis.

The suspects were also subjected to drug tests while the Blue Adventure vehicle was brought to the city police station to be presented as evidence to the Provincial City Prosecutors Office. (Dennis Abrina/PNA)
