SAN FELIPE, Zambales — Three men, including an official of the Population Commission (PopCom) office in this province, were found buried near the Maculcul Bridge here on Thursday.

The fatalities were identified as Norman Montevirgen, 64; Darel Olipane, 18; and Gerald Laborce, 24, who were reported missing since July 21.

Montevirgen was said to be a resident of Iba and worked with PopCom-Zambales as division chief.

San Felipe municipal police station investigator SPO3 Marlon Fontelera said the three were positively identified by their relatives.

A spot report sent to the Zambales Provincial Police Office said Bobby Puso, 46, a resident of Barangay Alusiis in San Narciso town, was pasturing his cows near the area around 8: 50 a.m. Thursday when he saw his dog digging on something which, he found to be a partly buried cadaver.

The report said Puso immediately informed his townmate, Genesis Umali, regarding the incident and soon after, policemen arrived. Personnel of the Zambales crime laboratory also came to process the crime scene.

When the first body was pulled out, two more bodies were discovered stacked underneath it.

The faces of the three victims were covered and their hands tied with packaging tape.

The remains were later brought to La Roma Funeral Homes here while police investigators continue their investigation.  (PNA)
