LEGAZPI CITY -- To expand its presence in Bicol, Japanese apparel brand Uniqlo will open its second branch in the region and the first in Legazpi City next month.

The store, which will occupy more than 800 square meters of space at the ground floor of the SM City Legazpi, is set to formally open to the public on Sept. 14.

"The potential of the whole Bicol region is being recognized by Uniqlo and the opening of the new store reflects Uniqlo's unparalleled commitment to the residents of Albay," Camille Pacio of the apparel company's marketing department, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) in an interview on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Masayoshi Nakamura, chief operations officer of Uniqlo Philippines, extended his message to Albayanos in a statement.

“Having just celebrated our sixth year in the country, we are optimistic about the success of our first store in Legazpi City given the strong support we continue to receive from Filipinos. We look forward to serving our customers here in Legazpi City by making Uniqlo’s innovative and high-quality life wear apparel available to every member of the local community,” he said.

Legazpeño shoppers can get a chance to own a limited edition Uniqlo lunch bag for every PHP2,000 single-receipt purchase from September 14-16 and enjoy exclusive opening offers on select items from September 14 to 20.

The Japanese brand's product line includes shirts, pants, dresses and other products. (PNA)
