Drug suspect killed, 2 others nabbed in Sultan Kudarat

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – A joint police and military team killed a drug suspect in a shootout Tuesday and arrested two others during a law enforcement operation in Barangay Pimbalayan, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

Capt. Arvin John Encinas, the Army’s 6th Infantry Division spokesperson, said combined elements of the Lambayong police and the  Army’s 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade were to serve search warrants against three suspects in the area when a shootout erupted around 1:30 a.m.

Killed in the exchange of gunfire was drug suspect Emar Jhon Kasim Samadalan, while his two cohorts, Marcelito and Marcelino, both surnamed Bibat, were arrested.

Seized from the suspects were 16 small plastic sachets and one big sachet of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth), two plastic sachets of marijuana, one homemade Uzi submachine gun with magazine clips, and ammunition.

The two remaining suspects were taken into custody by the Lambayong police as criminal charges are readied against them. (PNA)
