ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat – Police here shot dead a "high-value" drug suspect for allegedly grabbing a cop's firearm and firing at authorities on Monday evening.

Director of Police Regional Office 12 (Soccsksargen), Chief Supt. Eliseo Tam Rasco, identified the slain drug suspect as Badrudin Ambulodto of Purok Hiso, Barangay Kalawag 3 here.

Supt. Aldrin Gonzales, speaking for PRO-12, said joint elements of the Isulan municipal police and provincial drug enforcement unit were about to arrest Ambulodto during a drug buy-bust operation at about 8:50 p.m. but the suspect allegedly grabbed the 9-mm. pistol of one of the police officers and fired at the cops.

The cops shot Ambulodto in the body. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival, police said.

Police recovered from Ambulodto's residence a .38-caliber revolver, empty shells and five sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) with a PHP10,000 street value.

Gonzales said Ambulodto was a high-value target peddling illegal drugs in Isulan and nearby areas. (PNA)
