2 pushers killed, 31 arrested in 3-day Bulacan drug busts

CAMP GEN. ALEJO S. SANTOS, Bulacan -- Two notorious drug pushers were shot dead while 31 others were arrested in three days of anti-drug operations conducted by the Bulacan police from Wednesday to Friday morning.

Senior Supt. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan Provincial Director, said that a certain alias "JR Chua", and Joshua Santiago were killed Thursday and Friday, respectively in armed encounters with policemen.

Bersaluna said that JR Chua was slain in a shootout during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Malis, Guiguinto around 1:40 a.m. Thursday while Santiago was killed in an armed encounter during a sting in Barangay Tarcan, Baliwag around 12:50 a.m on Friday.

“Santiago was also involved in cases of robbery in the province,” he noted.

Bulacan Scene of the Crime Operation personnel who processed both crime scenes, recovered two caliber .38 revolvers, fired cartridges, nine plastic sachets of suspected shabu and buy-bust money.

Bersaluna said the 31 other drug suspects were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the operatives of the City of San Jose Del Monte, Meycauayan, Pulilan, Santa Maria, Hagonoy, Bocaue, San Rafael, Obando, Calumpit, Balagtas, Baliwag and Bulacan 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).

He identified the arrested suspects as Wilfredo Ramos, Roderick Tablatin, Jeffrey Walis, Robelyn Mahilom, Abraham Espeleta, Juanito Garing, Arwin Brosas, Hernan Cervantes, Johann Torres, Ranier Salvador, Mario Hunuguin, Paul John Peru, Jonathan Maniego, a 16-year-old minor;

Jayson Vincent Dialino, Raymond Kyle Damaso, Exequiel Damaso, Rodolfo Moreno Jr., Grace Junio, Regie Dionisio, Fernan Udal, Luis Condero, Florante Nebab, Alejandro Garcia, Liezel Delos Reyes, Jermel Salamat, Benedicto Alquiroz, Marlon Gregorio, Michael Maquiling, Adrian Reyes and Crisanto Estepa.

Confiscated during the operations were a total of 88 pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu or crystal meth, three plastic sachets of marijuana and buy-bust money.

Appropriate criminal complaints against the arrested suspects were readied for filing before the City/Provincial Prosecutors Office of Bulacan. (PNA)
