INDANG, Cavite – Close to 800 students, joined by their professors from various colleges, universities in Cavite, attended this year’s students entrepreneurial forum organized by the Provincial Government of Cavite, through its Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO).
According to the Provincial Information and Community Affairs Division (PICAD) on Tuesday, the Cavite Entrepreneurship Students Forum with the theme: “Entrepreneurial Mindset: Unleashing the Power of Today’s Generation”, was held at Cavite State University campus here on Oct 4.
The forum, PICAD adds is aimed at promoting "a sustainable economic development in the community and to impart the effectiveness of having a well-developed and innovative entrepreneurial mindset.”
The participants, driven by their desire to gather some tips and inspiration from successful entrepreneurs, were warmly welcomed by PCLEDO head Alvin S. Mojica.
Mojica encouraged everyone to be an entrepreneurs as it may lead aspiring businessmen in achieving unlimited income.
At the forum, Indang Councilor Crispin Diego “Ping” Remulla delivered an inspirational message on behalf of Gov. Jesus Crispin Remulla.
On the other hand, Liza Gabatan, Entrepreneurial Division Head of PCLEDO discussed a brief overview of the Cavite Entrepreneurship Students Forum.
Roberto R. Castañeda, CEO and Founder of Don Roberto’s Winery Corporation discussed “The Entrepreneurial Mindset: Entrepreneurship and Innovation” to help educate aspiring entrepreneurs on the importance of having a positive outlook in life, incomparable passion and upright sense of time.
The afternoon session was comprised of two sets of forums, wherein students raised their queries and gathered some useful advices from the panelists as they build their own businesses.
The initial forum topics covered include “Towards Entrepreneurial Success: Their Testimonies and Challenges,” facilitated by Virginia Malipol (Owner, Amira’s Buco Tart Haus) with Ma. Isabel Punzalan (President, Delfa’s Food Products, Inc.), Bing Angeles (Owner, Ocean Fresh Tahong Chips) and Ericson Atanacio (President, Terre Verde Ecofarm, Inc) and moderated by PLCEDO’s Livelihood Division Head Sheryll Loyola,
Also discussed are topics on “Getting Started: Young Entrepreneurs’ Insights and Advice” where Keith Varias (Owner, Chicoi Solutions Computer Services), Marc Hermes Sumulong (Owner, Greenshop Ecopreneurs and Unit Manager, Sun Life Phils.), Madonna Rolle (Owner, Zenith Events Management) and Noreen Claire Legaspi (Founder/Creative Director, Lit Digital) acted as resource speakers and moderated by Janice Burgos-Diesta, Sr. Cooperative Development Specialist of PCLEDO.
Provincial Director Noly Guevara of DTI-Cavite graced the event on behalf of Vice Governor Ramon Jolo Revilla III, who advised participants to create what’s in demand while advising participants to learn and adopt on the offered changes and innovation of the desired industry.
The event was highlighted with Trade Fair Exhibit where eco-friendly products made by the students from various colleges and universities in Cavite were on display.
STI College-Dasma was awarded 1st Place for the Most Promising Product followed by PUP-Maragondon and CVSU-Indang, respectively. (PNA)
