CAMP GEN. MALVAR, Batangas City – Two big-time illegal drug peddlers were arrested during a buy-bust operation by law enforcers in San Juan town Thursday.

Batangas police public information office chief, Senior Insp. Kerwin Amor Umali Cabralesan, said Friday that San Juan Municipal Police Station (MPS) chief of police, Chief Inspector Rosell DM. Encarnacion, identified the two suspects as Roderick Endaya Consebido alias “Erick”, a drug watch list suspect, and Marlon Silva Consebido, a newly-identified drug personality,

Encarnacion reported that personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit/Provincial Intelligence Branch (PDEU/PIB) of the Batangas Provincial Police Office (BPPO) and the San Juan MPS conducted a buy-bust operation in the town’s Barangay Calit-Calit , around 6:40 p.m. on Oct. 25, which resulted in the arrest of the two big-time drug peddlers.

Authorities seized from the suspects two bricks of suspected dried marijuana weighing about two kilos; two cellular phones; 25 pieces of fake PHP1,000 bills and a genuine PHP 1,000 bill . They also impounded the Honda XRM motorcycle ,with plate No. WB7515, used by the suspects in their transactions, Encarnation said.

He said the suspects are believed to be major distributors of marijuana in the 4th District of Batangas, Lipa City and other adjacent municipalities.

He added that the marijuana distribution even ended up in the different schools in the province, where most of the clients are students.

“The arrest of the two suspects will surely have a big impact in the drug trade in the said municipalities and cities especially in the different schools in Batangas. It will also send a strong message to those other drug personalities still engaged in the said illegal activities,” warned Encarnacion.

The two suspects are now detained pending charges to be filed against them for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.” (Jojo C. Magsombol/PNA)
