Caraga police probes slay of 3 lumad farmers

MANILA -- Caraga police director, Chief Supt. Gilberto Cruz, on Saturday ordered the Buenavista Municipal Police Station to conduct a probe into the killing of three indigenous people (lumad) by the New People’s Army in Buenavista, Agusan Del Norte.

Cruz identified the victims as Alfredo Tomaquin Sr., 61; Paka Pinatugaw, 47; and Pina Pinatugaw, 48, all farmers, residents of Sitio Bagang, Brgy Simbalan, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

The three lumads belonged to the Higaunon and Dagatnon tribes.

The victims succumbed to multiple hack and gunshot on November 7. (PNA)
