MANILA --Classes at the Reedley International School in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City were cancelled Friday due to a bomb threat.

According to the Eastern Police District (EPD), a school receptionist received a text message from an anonymous person, saying, “Your school is going down in a few hours. An explosive was sneaked inside your building early this morning at around 6:45 a.m. to 7 a.m. via a student’s bag.”

Jerome Castro, head master of Reedly International School, relayed the message to the local police, prompting personnel from the Pasig City Police Station 10 to validate the report.

Members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team and a K9 unit were deployed at the campus to conduct an inspection.

Around 11:50 a.m., the school conducted evacuation and around 12:25 p.m., the SWAT and K9 unit conducted final paneling in the school premises.

“There is no IED and any similar devices found during the conduct of search as per EOD and Chief SWAT Senior Insp. Badontor Monte and K9 Pasig,” the EPD said. (PNA)
