MANILA -- Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded his two-day visit in the Philippines on a rainy day, with his convoy arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) before 2 p.m. on Wednesday to leave the country.
President Xi held an umbrella as he climbed the stairs to board an Air China plane. Despite the rains, the Chinese president faced the crowd and made a final wave before getting inside the aircraft.
President Xi earlier met with Senate President Vicente Sotto III and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
During his state visit, President Xi signed 29 agreements with the Philippine government. These include a memorandum of understanding on cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative, cooperation on oil and gas development, and infrastructure cooperation program.
On Tuesday, President Xi attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Park and attended a bilateral meeting and the state banquet. (PNA)
