MANILA -- The military, through the Philippine Air Force (PAF) Bids and Awards Committee, is allocating PHP24.23 million for the acquisition of spares needed for the maintenance of its Cessna C-208B Grand Caravan aircraft.

The aircraft is helpful in the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ conduct of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations.

In a bid bulletin posted at the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System, PAF Bids and Awards chair, Brig. Gen. Fernyl Buca said prospective bidders should have experience in a similar project within the last five years.

Submission and opening of bids is scheduled on Dec. 10, 9:15 a.m. at the PAF Procurement Center, Conference Room, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

Two Cessna C-208Bs were handed by the US government to the PAF in July of last year.

It has a cruising speed of around 170 knots and has a range of over 1,000 nautical miles and capable of transporting eight to nine persons, including the pilot. (PNA)
