MANILA -- The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 4-A (Calabarzon) plans to hire doctors and health personnel on job order basis to resolve the urgent need for additional personnel in government hospitals in the region, more particularly at the Bacoor District Hospital.
DOH 4-A Director Eduardo C. Janairo, in an interview Monday at the sidelines of the two-day Midwives' Summit at Midas Hotel in Pasay City, said the DOH regional office is now in talks with various academic institutions, medical centers and training hospitals in a move to augment the human resource needs of the Bacoor District Hospital (BDH) in Bacoor City, Cavite.
Janairo said the plan is to immediately resolve the urgent need for additional personnel.
Janairo did not specify the number of needed personnel but was quick to say that the DOH-Calabarzon will create an ad-hoc committee to facilitate a human resource exchanges among various academic institutions, medical centers and training hospital next year.
The DOH Calabarzon office, together with the provincial government of Cavite and city government of Bacoor, signed a “Tripartite Memorandum of Agreement” last Nov. 9 for the continuous provision of assistance and support for expansion of the hospital facility to serve the growing population and health needs of the city.
In the agreement, the DOH shall provide for the appropriate technical, manpower and logistic support needed to for the improvement and health services of the hospital and ensure that the residents will be given the necessary health care assistance they need, especially the indigents.
The support includes bringing in of consultants from Batangas Medical Center (BMC) to provide clinical support for specific departments of the hospital and also provide training assistance and other technical support for the hospital.
Established in 2019 through Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No.084, Series of 2011, the Bacoor District Hospital (BDH) now operates as a 10-bed capacity medical facility with complete laboratory, emergency room equipment and services for outpatients.
Second district Rep. Strike Revilla passed House Bill 6618, which seeks to establish a 100-bed capacity hospital in Barangay Habay 2 in Bacoor, Cavite to be known as the Bacoor District Hospital, which the Senate approved on third and final reading and is now pending approval by the bicameral committee.
