ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Police operatives arrested two of the most wanted persons in a separate law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, an official said Thursday.

Chief Supt. Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) director, identified the suspects as Mario Lamina, 44, and Roland Damaso, 39.

Licup said that through an arrest warrant, Lamina was apprehended in Barangay Dinuan, Salug, Zamboanga del Norte at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Lamina is the 10th most wanted person in Salug and has a standing warrant of arrest for homicide, with a PHP40,000 recommended bail,  issued by the court in Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte on Nov. 19, 2015.

Damaso, meanwhile, was arrested in Barangay Bugan, Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

He is listed as the ninth most wanted person in Sirawai for the crime of homicide. The warrant against him was issued by the court on Sept. 28, 2015.

Licup said all PRO-9 police units have been ordered to continue the campaign against wanted persons in the region. (PNA)
