CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos in Northern Mindanao (NCMF-10) has joined the Mindanao Week of Peace with a Meranaw cultural presentation dubbed as the "Kalilang for Peace" over the weekend.

NCMF-10 Acting Director Abdulnasser P. Masorong, Jr. said the cultural activity was their contribution to the Mindanao Week of Peace, which is institutionalized by Presidential Proclamation No. 127.

"Peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be achieved by understanding," Masoronga said, quoting the famous scientist Albert Einstein.

"Events like this should often be celebrated by millennials," he added, saying the youth remains the hope for a peaceful and prosperous country.

The NCMF-led event featured different types of ethnic dances to convey and express the language of peace and serenity, performed by the Dariday Cultural Dance Troupe. (Jessa Lagahid & Benedict Talines, USTP-CDO interns/PNA)
