24K village volunteers in Bukidnon get cash aid

MALAYBALAY CITY – The provincial government of Bukidnon has distributed financial assistance worth PHP83.7 million to 24,409 volunteer workers in the province’s 46 barangays from Monday to Tuesday (December 18).

Governor Jose Ma. R. Zubiri Jr. on Tuesday underscored the role of barangay volunteers in maintaining peace and order and in helping the local government units implement health programs at the grassroots level.

Hansel Echavez, supervising administrative officer of the capitol’s Public Affairs Information and Assistance (PAIA) office, said the provincial government has been implementing cash assistance program annually and during December.

For this year, the distributions were held at Kaamulan Folk Arts Theatre, Kaamulan Grounds, Malaybalay City.

On Monday, a total of 3,788 Barangay Health Workers (BHW), 642 Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), and 949 Day Care Workers were the first to receive the cash aid.

The next day was the 9,280 Civilian Volunteers Organization (CVO) or Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSO), and 959 Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPO).

On December 20, some 4,151 Purok Leaders and 4,64 Lupong Tagapamayapa members will receive their cash aid.

Echavez said BNS and daycare workers received PHP12,000 each while BHW and BSPO personnel received PHP6,000.

CVO/BPSO, Purok Leaders and Lupong Tagapamayapa members, meanwhile, received PHP2,000 each. (PNA)
