Probe body formed to look into Agusan del Sur raid

MANILA -- A Board of Inquiry (BOI) has been formed to investigate the rebel raid in Sibagat, Agusan Del Sur, which resulted in the overrunning of a military detachment and the subsequent abduction of 12 members of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) and two soldiers early on Wednesday.

This was disclosed by Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) public affairs chief Col. Noel Detoyato in a message to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) Thursday.

"Pursuit operations is ongoing and a Board of Inquiry was commissioned to ascertain the facts leading to the raid and abduction to determine who has was remiss of his duty," he added.

Detoyato also said the Philippine Army, together with the Philippine National Police will file appropriate charges as soon as the details and facts are established by the BOI.

Aside from the capture of military personnel, the rebels seized automatic rifles, ammunition, a radio and other supplies. (PNA)
