ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Three persons, including an alleged syndicate member, were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Region 9, a police official said Thursday.

Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office (PRO-9) information officer, identified the arrested individuals as Jovie Jaman, 29; Jenny Jane Compis, 27; and Julie Alabi, 42.

Galvez said Jaman is a suspected member of the Sahibad drug syndicate, while Compis was out on bail since she was arrested on June 15, 2018 for drug charges.

Jaman and Compis were arrested by joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives in a buy-bust operation around 10:35 p.m. Wednesday in Sitio Kayatian, Barangay Poblacion, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.

The arresting team seized from them sachets of suspected shabu, PHP500 marked money, and assorted illegal drug paraphernalia, police said.

Galvez said Alabi was arrested in another buy-bust operation around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday in Zone 6, Barangay Ayala, this city.

Seized from Alabi were PHP40,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 12 heat-sealed plastic sachets, PHP300 marked money, and illegal drug paraphernalia.
