MANILA—While typhoon “Usman” weakened into a low pressure area ( LPA) on Sunday, the northeast monsoon continues to affect Luzon consistently for days now since last week.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Southern and Central Luzon will continue to experience cloudy skies, with light rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

The weather bureau, in its latest 7 a.m. forecast on Monday, said that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will likewise be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”

The Visayas and Mindanao are expected to have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought about by localized thunderstorms.

Strong winds from the northeast to east produce rough coastal waters from the seaboards of Luzon, the eastern section of the Visayas and Mindanao, which will make venturing in small sea craft risky.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 22-28 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City degrees Celsius; Baguio City 13-23 degrees Celsius; Angeles City 22-28 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 22-28 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 24-30 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 24-32 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
