LOS BAÑOS, Laguna -- Some 500 patients from Timuga village here availed of free medical, dental, optical and other health services under the Laguna provincial government’s “Serbisyong Tama (Right Services) Caravan” at the village covered court on Tuesday.
Governor Ramil L. Hernandez, represented by his wife Provincial Board member Ruth Mariano Hernandez, chair of the legislative council’s committee on health and nutrition, spearheaded the health services caravan, in partnership with the municipal government, for the benefit of indigent residents.
Board member Hernandez said they have sustained the medical and dental missions as part of the provincial government’s thrust to ensure health and wellness among Lagunenses.
The “Serbisyong Tama Caravan”, a provincial government program, provides Lagunenses health support and social services and brings local government services to the grassroots and remote areas, local officials explained.
It was reported that the team of doctors, pediatricians and health professionals served a total of 122 infants and children; 59 eye patients who also received free eyeglasses; 92 for diagnosis/checkups by two general clinicians; 39 for skin diseases; and 45 senior citizens for geriatric services.
Some 90 patients availed of the dental services and tooth extractions; 12 underwent urinalysis; 14 took laboratory tests; and three undertook the Electro Cardio Graph examinations. (Ruben E. Taningco/PNA)
