Abu Sayyaf member nabbed in Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY--Authorities arrested an alleged member of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in a manhunt operation in the province of Sulu, police said Saturday.

The Sulu Provincial Police Office identified the arrested ASG member as Sabor Hayudini alyas Sugo, who was allegedly involved in kidnappings in the region and brought victims to Sulu.

Police said Hayudini was arrested at around 1 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Kajadtian, Indanan town.

Recovered from Hayudini were a rifle, a pistol, two fragmentation grenades and a sachet of suspected shabu.

Meanwhile, police said an unidentified person was shot and beheaded just couple of meters away from the residence of Hayudini six hours after he was arrested.

Police are still conducting investigation to determine whether the beheading of the victim is related to the arrest of Hayudini. (PNA)
