LEGAZPI CITY -- Police operatives killed on Sunday night a suspected drug pusher in a drug operation along the Maharlika Highway at Barangay Tabugon, Sta. Elena town in Camarines Norte, a police report said on Monday.
Slain was Rufo Tioson of Bacoor, Cavite, an alleged drug peddler operating in the said town, Chief Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-5 spokesperson, said.
The suspect, at around 9:15 p.m., was caught selling three heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP20,000 to a police undercover agent.
Upon learning that it was a police buy-bust operation, the suspect resisted arrest, which led to an armed confrontation with the raiding team.
Tioson, after being wounded, was rushed to the Rovima Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. (PNA)
