CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- Five suspected notorious drug pushers were slain on Tuesday, the second day of the intensified Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) in this province.

Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan Police director, said three of the suspects were killed in anti-illegal drug operations in Meycauayan City and in the towns of Baliwag and Pulilan.

They were identified as Norberto Ligon, 39, who was included in the drug watch list of the Meycauayan City Police; and Ariel Bunag and RJ de Leon, both included in the drug watch list of the Baliwag Municipal Police.

“They were neutralized during drug buy bust operations. They sensed that they were dealing with undercover agents and fired towards our operatives. Our police personnel retaliated, which resulted in their deaths,” Bersaluna said.

He also said that two other drug suspects, brothers Rico Reyes and Noel Reyes, both residents of Barangay Sto. Cristo, Pulilan town, were killed after they engaged the operatives in a shootout during the serving of a search warrant.

Recovered from the encounters were four caliber .38 revolvers without serial numbers, one caliber .45 pistol with a defaced serial number, eight sachets of suspected shabu, marijuana, and buy bust money.

Meanwhile, the 13 arrested drug suspects were Jorge Alpas; Rodel Galit; Norasan Gambao; Ronaldo Agacita; Edgardo Magtanao; Christopher Binuya; Rogelio Acuna; Joselito Ferrera; Edwin Castro; Erick Licuanan Jr.; Marlou Surio; Kimarvin Viray; and Roberto Policarpio.

Bersaluna said that a total of 33 plastic sachets of shabu and buy-bust money were confiscated during the operations conducted by the anti-illegal drug operatives of Malolos City, Meycauayan City, Bulakan, Calumpit, Balagtas, and Santa Maria.

“The arrested suspects and seized pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory for appropriate examination while criminal charges against them are now being prepared for filing in court,” he added. (PNA)
