GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Police arrested three target-listed drug pushers in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday in a village in the South Cotabato town of Polomolok.

In a report to Regional Police Office-12, the Polomolok municipal police station on Thursday said the suspects were nabbed at around 7:30 a.m. in Barangay Pagalungan.

Supt. Samuel Cadungon, Polomolok police chief, identified the suspects as Roberto Lipay, 33; Junito Permito, 42; and Quinjun Pagcay, 26, who were all listed as residents of Barangay Tango in Glan, Sarangani Province.

Cadungon said the three were nabbed after selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth PHP500 to a police officer who posed as a buyer.

Recovered from the suspects' possession were two more small plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth PHP1,000, a small crumpled paper containing dried marijuana leaves, three pieces of aluminum foil, a disposable lighter and a glass test tube used as improvised tooter, he said.

Cadungon said they earlier received a tip from an informant regarding the illegal activities of the suspects, two of whom work as drivers.

He said they subjected the three to a series of surveillance and eventually confirmed their involvement in the drug trade.

"We're currently determining their other possible cohorts and networks in the area," Cadungon said.

The suspects will be charged with selling and possession of dangerous drugs under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
