Zambo police nab 2, seize P500K shabu

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Two suspected big-time drug pushers were arrested while some PHP514,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city, police said Tuesday.

Senior Insp. Shellamie Chang, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Alhabir Laja, 34 and Abdelrafi Sakili, 28.

Chang said Laja was arrested by the operatives of the Police Station 9 in a buy-bust operation around 10:45 a.m. Monday in Barangay Zone 1, this city.

Confiscated from Laja’s possession were some PHP314,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in a plastic sachet, and PHP500 marked money consisting of five PHP100 bills with PHP40,000 "boodle" money, police said.

Sakili was arrested by the personnel of the Police Station 6 in a buy-bust operation around 12:10 a.m. Tuesday at a hotel along Governor Camins Ave. in Barangay Canelar, police said.

The arresting team said it seized from Sakil's possession some PHP200,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in nine heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP200 marked money. (PNA)
