KIDAPAWAN CITY -- The provincial government of North Cotabato has extended a PHP5-million assistance for the proposed Kidapawan City’s Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Village, officials said Saturday.

Williamor Magbanua, city information officer, said the assistance was turned over by North Cotabato Governor Emmylou Mendoza to
City Mayor Joseph Evangelista during the opening ceremony for the city’s 21st charter anniversary.

“The project is expected to be completed within this year,” Magbanua said of the village that will rise on a vacant lot procured by the city government.

The low-cost housing project is intended for OFWs who could not afford to build their own house while working overseas. (PNA)
