Cops recover weapon from former NPA in Bukidnon

MALAYBALAY CITY – Authorities seized a pistol from a former member of the New People’s Army (NPA) here during a raid Tuesday evening.

Police report said the search warrant was served to Arnel Daluniag at his residence in Purok 3A in Brgy. Can-ayan in violation of Republic Act No. 10591, also known as the "Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act".

Aside from the seized cal. 9mm Norinco pistol, authorities also recovered a steel magazine assembly and nine bullets. Police said Daluniag was a former combatant of the NPA's Front Committee 89 based in the village where he resides.

Police saod Daluniag is the son of NPA leader Armando Daluniag of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) operating in the hinterlands of Bukidnon and Agusan del Sur.

The joint raiding team was composed of personnel from the First Bukidnon Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Criminal Investigation Detection Group (CIDG), the Army's 43rd Military Intelligence Company (MICO), and Charlie Company of the Army's 8th Infantry Battalion. (PNA)
