DUMAGUETE CITY - Three suspected drug personalities, including a minor, were arrested early Thursday in Purok Mabungahon, Upper Motong here during an anti-illegal drugs operation that yielded some half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu.

The suspects were identified as Seigfred Libby, 38, single, of Upper Motong, Roderick Libby Carillaga, 42, married, of Lower Motong, and a 15-year-old boy, of Upper Motong, all in this city.

According to the police, Libby is in the watch list of the Dumaguete Police while the other two are “newly-identified” drug personalities.

The three were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted around 12:20 a.m. in Upper Motong by joint operatives of the Dumaguete City Drug Enforcement Unit, headed by Senior Insp. Vann Joel Tingson, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Maritime Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Oriental.

Libby is a half-brother of Kevin Caballero, who was arrested in Pulantubig, Dumaguete City last year and is the son of Manolo Caballero who was shot dead also in Pulantubig months back.

Seized from the suspects were one piece elongated heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a PHP500 marked bill used in the buy-bust operation, two pieces of big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, five medium transparent plastic sachets and two pieces of small elongated plastic sachets containing alleged shabu.

Also recovered were one unit weighing scale and cash amounting to PHP7,650.00 believed to be proceeds from alleged illegal drugs sales.

The alleged shabu totaled 75 grams in weight with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of PHP 510,000.

According to Senior Insp. Tingson, Libby is highly mobile and transfers from one boarding house to another in Dumaguete City and nearby Sibulan town to avoid detection.

Libby was placed in the watch list after his name appeared in documents confiscated by the police in other anti-illegal drugs operations. (PNA)
