SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique -- Antiqueño athletes who won gold medals in the ongoing Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) 2019 meet in Roxas City, Capiz will be awarded PHP10,000 cash.

“The athletes from Antique won eight gold medals in the elementary level and five gold medals in the high school level,” he said.

For the elementary level, the four gold medals were from dance sports, arnis, swimming, and taekwondo.

“Antique is the over-all champion in the dance sports elementary after the elementary pupils Liz Angelie Andrada and Miguel Miranda won in jive, zumba, and cha-cha,” he said.

The dance sports competition was held last February 18.

Another elementary pupil Sydney Bertiz won gold in the arnis girls double weapon competition while elementary pupil Theone Francesco Fedelicio won gold in the 50-meter breaststroke for boys.

During the opening of the WVRAA, he said Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao has promised to give PHP10,000 incentives to each of the Antiqueño athlete competing in the individual sports as well as in team sports who will bring home the gold.
