10K vacancies up for grabs in 2-day Zambo job fair

ZAMBOANGA CITY – More than 10,000 job opportunities are up for grabs in the two-day “Dia de Zamboanga” jobs fair scheduled here on February 27-28.

Socorro Rojas, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) head, said Friday the jobs fair forms part of the activities in line with the celebration of the 82nd Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga (Charter Day of Zamboanga).

Rojas, who is also chief of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), said the jobs fair will be held at the activity area of the KCC Mall de Zamboanga along Gov. Camins, Barangay Camino Nuevo, this city.

It will be participated in by 25 local companies that will make available more than 2,700 job vacancies and 10 overseas agencies that will offer more than 7,500 job orders, she said.

Applicants are required to be in their business attire and to bring their resumé and other important documents.

A one-stop shop will be set up at the venue for various services, as well as ensure the speedy processing of the documentary requirements of applicants.

The Social Security System, PhilHealth, Pag-ibig Fund, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine National Police, Western Mindanao State University and Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University will have cubicles at the job fair site to ensure the speedy processing of the applicants’ documentary requirements.

The jobs fair is organized by the city government in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and KCC Mall de Zamboanga. (PNA)
