MANILA -- Local carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced Wednesday it will begin servicing the Manila-Marinduque route starting April 1.

Its subsidiary, Cebgo, will use its fleet of brand-new ATR aircraft between Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and Marinduque every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

"This is the first time that CEB is offering this route," spokesperson Charo Lagamon told the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

She added this aims to address efficient transportation to Marinduque.

According to CEB, the Manila-Marinduque flight would only take about an hour.

"It would take passengers at least 8 hours to travel to Marinduque by land and ferry," Lagamon remarked.

Meanwhile, as an introductory offer, CEB said flights between Manila and Marinduque can be booked for as low as PHP499 (base period). The introductory offer is from March 6-13, for travel period from April 1 to October 26, 2019. (PNA)
