Famous Irish MMA fighter McGregor retires

MOSCOW – Popular Irish professional mixed martial artist and boxer Conor McGregor has announced his retirement at the age of 30.

"Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as "Mixed Martial Art" today. I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement," McGregor wrote on Twitter.

McGregor is one of the most famous fighters in the UFC history, who fought 25 times, gaining 21 victories, and lost four times.

He won his first UFC title in 2015 and became the first fighter to hold two UFC titles in different weight classes.

McGregor left the sport five months after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov in a brawl-marred fight in Las Vegas. (TASS)
