CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- A total of 3,617 newly-promoted police personnel in Central Luzon took their oath at the parade grounds here Monday.

Brig. Gen. Joel Napoleon Coronel, director of Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon), who administered the oath-taking and mass pinning of ranks, told the newly-promoted police personnel that rank neither confers privilege nor gives them power but rather imposes great responsibility to serve the community.

“To both our police commissioned officers and promotees, you are now in a better position to serve our communities,” Coronel said.

“It does not mean that now you are officials and promoted into high rank, people will serve you. The more that you should be servants of the people. I expect you all to transform into positive actions because the added authority and responsibility donned on your shoulders today is founded on the PNP’s philosophy and core values,” he added. PNP is the Philippine National Police.

Of the newly promoted PRO-3 members, 18 are police commissioned officers, 331 are lateral entrants and 3,268 are police non-commissioned officers. (PNA)
