Gunmen shoot, hurt 2 minors in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY – Police have launched a manhunt against three men who shot and critically injured two teens in Barangay Rosary Heights 13, this city, Sunday night.

Capt. Rustom Pastolero, city police station 2 commander, said probers are following up a lead that will identify and arrest the attackers.

Pastolero said the shooting occurred at past 9 p.m. on a roadside store at the corner of San Gregorio and San Juan streets.

He identified the victims as “Kim” and “Gerald,” both 16-year-old students, residing in San Gregorio Street.

Initial investigation showed that the victims were heading to a roadside store when three men onboard a tricycle arrived.

One of the three men got off the tricycle and opened fire on the victims, police said.

The suspects fled while bystanders rushed the two to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.

Pastolero said they have yet to determine the motive of the attack. (PNA)
