MANILA -- As Typhoon Tisoy (international name Kammuri) pummels most parts of the country, the head of the Archdiocese of Manila issued his prayer for those affected by the weather disturbance.

Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle released the prayer Tuesday afternoon as the typhoon hit parts of Luzon and Visayas.

The prayer is as follow:
Mapagmahal na Ama, kinikilala at sinasamba Ka namin. Batid Mo ang pangamba ng maraming Pilipino dahil sa pagpasok ng bagyong Tisoy sa aming bansa. Pahupain nawa ng Inyong mapagpalang kamay ang hangin at ulan. Ilayo po ninyo sa panganib at sakuna ang mga pamilya, lalo na ang mga dukha. Himukin mo kaming magdamayan. Patuloy nawa naming alagaan ang kalikasan at bawa't kapwa-tao. Dinadalangin namin ito sa ngalan ni Jesukristong Anak Mo, kasama ng Espiritu Santo, iisang Dios na Maylikha, (Loving Father, we recognize and worship You. You know the predicament of many Filipinos because of the entry of Typhoon Tisoy to our country. May your blessed hand calm the winds and rains. Spare our families from the danger and disaster, especially the poor. Encourage us to help one another. May we continue to care for the environment and our fellowmen. We are asking this in the name of Your son Jesus Christ, together with the Holy Spirit, the one and only Creator) Amen.”

Earlier, the Diocese of Legazpi and the Archdiocese of Caceres urged the faithful to pray the Oratio Imperata.

Churches under the diocese were urged to open to evacuees that will be affected by the storm.

Meanwhile, Caritas Manila, the social action arm of the archdiocese has asked for donations from the public for those affected by Tisoy.
