MANILA -- New members of the Philippine Army Multi-Sector Advisory Board (PA MSAB) formally took their oath during short ceremonies in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on Tuesday.

Army commander, Lt. Gen. Macairog Alberto, led the oath-taking and pinning of the ATR Stakeholder pin to some of the new members from the government, non-government, media, business, defense, and youth sectors.

Among the 16 member-board present in the ceremony were John Aloysius Bernas, Antonino Aquino, Harold Clavite, Dr. Maria Isabel Cojuangco-Suntay, Matteo Guidicelli, and Congressman Zajid Mangundadatu.

The PA MSAB, which was established in the nationwide and local level, aims to promote the continuity and sustainability of the Army Transformation Roadmap and to encourage shared responsibility in its success.

Bernas served as the Country Representative for Global Message Services, Chief Investment Officer of the LifeBank Foundation Inc., Global Advisory Board of LeapFrog Investments, and Independent Director of Intellicare.

Aquino, on the other hand, is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Ayala Land, Manila Water and PhilamLife.

Clavite was the Managing Director and Communication Specialist of HRS Training and Consulting as well as Executive Associate, United Nations Development Programme.

While Cojuangco-Suntay was a co-founder of the Tarlac Heritage Foundation and is active in the advocacy in the collection, preservation, and conservation of the “heritage resources of the Province of Tarlac".

Guidicelli is an actor and currently a Reserve Military Officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines while Mangundadatu serves as the Congressman of the 2nd District of Maguindanao.

The board will serve in an advisory capacity and shall submit its findings and recommendations to the Army Commanding General.

Moreover, the members are tasked to come together to conduct the PA MASB summit wherein all MSAB Members all over the country gather to share the best practices and encourage the spirit of volunteerism in transformation among key stakeholders.

“To sustain the momentum of pursuing genuine reforms founded on good governance and strong public-private partnership, it is my hope that candor and transparency will enable lively discussions and inspiring interactions. Thank you for your participation in and commitment to the MSAB, and being part of our journey as we transform into a world-class Army that is a source of national pride,” Alberto said. (PNA)
