COTABATO CITY – An 11-year-old girl in this city, who was associated with the region's 17th coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) positive patient, also tested positive for the virus, the Department of Health (DOH) in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) said Wednesday.

In a report, the DOH-12 said the girl is still waiting for her patient number from DOH-Manila.

“She had a close association with the 17th patient in the region, a 26-year-old government worker at the Cotabato City hall,” Arjohn Gangoso, DOH-12 spokesperson, said.

The girl remains in stable condition, Gangoso added.

Dr. Meyasser Patadon, city health chief, said the girl resides in the apartment owned by her father, the 17th positive patient in the region.

Soccsksargen has so far 23 confirmed Covid-19 patients.

Of this number, 14 have recovered while the rest are still undergoing medication in isolation centers.

In. Cotabato City, six of the nine confirmed patients have fully recovered while three remain in isolation. (PNA)
