MANILA – The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Palawan and Mindanao will bring rains over the said areas on Tuesday, a weather specialist said.

In its latest forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over the Zamboanga Peninsula, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Soccsksargen, and Palawan, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Mindanao.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas will prevail over the whole archipelago.

Meno Mendoza, PAGASA weather specialist, said a low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted 770 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora.

"It (LPA) has a low chance of developing into a typhoon, and it may dissipate in the next 36 hours," he said. (PNA)
