6 armed dope dealers killed, 11 others nabbed in Bulacan

CAMP GEN. ALEJO S. SANTOS, Bulacan , Aug.7 -- A series of anti-drug operations in the province resulted in the deaths of six armed alleged drug dealers who engaged lawmen into a firefight while 11 other suspects were arrested in different parts of Bulacan over the weekend.

Bulacan Provincial Police Director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr. on Monday said that the six suspects were killed in armed encounters in Malolos City and in the towns of  Marilao and Bocaue.

Caramat said that those killed were Areld Lopez, 38,  a resident of Phase 2B Menzyland Subdivision, Barangay Sta Trinidad, Malolos City;  Roberto Umali Paragas, 33, a resident of Binata St., Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City;  Aldrin Macaraig Data, also a resident of  Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City, a certain “Toni” and two unidentified male armed suspects in Bocaue town

He also said that 11 other suspects were arrested in different police operations conducted in Bulakan, Norzagaray, Pandi, Bustos, Pulilan and San Rafael.

The suspects were identified as  Manuel Jervie Sarmiento,  Reymark Medina, Joseph Sarmiento, Lazaro De Guzman Jr.,  Ruel Supero, Maritess Tamares,  Dino Cobreros, Rodolfo Manalili,  Dennis Santos, Mary Jane Garcia, and  Randy Dela Fuente.

Recovered from the 11 arrested suspects were a total of 23 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, a foil strip with suspected marijuana residue and buy bust money.

The arrested suspects and recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination while appropriate criminal complaints against them are now being prepared for filing in court. (PNA)
