ALAMINOS CITY, Aug. 8--A rent-carnap syndicate surfaced anew when a missing Toyota Innova owned by a Bulacan businesswoman was traced from two men from Bolinao, Pangasinan Monday night.

The police said the suspects were arrested  at 8:45 p.m. on board on the complaint of the owner Evangeline Umetso, 45, of San Ildefonso, Bulacan who traced her car through its installed active Global Positioning System (GPS) gadget.

At that time, the car was in the possession of one Johnny Inocelda, a businessman, 43, and his driver Renante Pascua, both of Barangay Balingasay, Bolinao.

Mrs. Umetso told the Alaminos City Police her car was rented for one month by one Roger Garvida Fuentes, 37, of North Fairview, Quezon.

However, after a month, Garvida could not be contacted in his cellular phone nor could be found in his stated home address.

It was then that Mrs. Umetso asked the Highway Patrtol Group (HPG) to help find her missing car.

Upon questioning at the Alaminos City policew station, Inocelda admitted he bought the car from one Gabriel Islocum, alias "Raymundo" of Fairview, Quezon City but could not present any document.

A complaint for carnapping is now being prepared against the suspects.
Meanwhile, operatives of the HPG are now hunting for both Garvida and Islocom, the police here said.  (PNA)
