MANILA, Aug. 11 -- Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) is determining magnitude and other details of the earthquake Metro Manila felt Friday (Aug. 11).

The earthquake's magnitude might be 6.0 or higher, said Phivolcs Dir. Renato Solidum.

Movement of Manila Trench may have triggered such earthquake in Southern Luzon, he noted.

Solidum said the earthquake occurred deep so occurrence of tsunami is unlikely. Quezon City felt the earthquake at around intensity III, he added. (PNA)
