CAMP MARCELO ADDURU, Tuguegarao City -- Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) Director, Chief Supt. Robert G. Quenery, administered the oath-taking of 1,042 newly-promoted officers of the different provincial offices at the regional headquarters here on Wednesday.

A total of 1,940 police personnel applied but only 1,042 were promoted for reason of limited quota.

The officers were promoted to the next higher ranks after going through rigorous screening by the PRO2 promotion board, according to the press release.

Regional Personnel Human Resource and Development Division chief, Senior Supt. Juan R. Aggasid, said the promoted personnel were composed of 36 Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 1,006 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs).

Quenery, during the ceremony, said the promotion the personnel is one of his priorities as his way of recognizing their sacrifices, accomplishments and merit displayed in the police service.

“Today you are being promoted not simply because you satisfied your qualification standard, you are being promoted because we see in you more potential to steer this organization to higher level,” he said.

"We would like to remind you of the three very important perspectives in life: Focus, Alignment and Commitment which serve as guide to attain success in life. Focus- When you know where you are going or when you want to reach your goals in life, in your organization or in your career; Alignment- Get out from your comfort zones, experience other fields, other positions and other designations were your skills and talents can be developed; Commitment- Even if you are focused or aligned, if you are not committed to pursue your objectives then it is just a piece of paper," Quenery said.
