PSA conducts listing of farm households

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is conducting listing of farm households to update its database on agriculture here in Region 9.

Mark Anthony Belderol, PSA-Zamboanga district officer-in-charge, on Monday said they have employed the services of 89 enumerators to gather the region’s farm households.

Belderol said the data gathering will cover 100,174 households in the Zamboanga Peninsula region. The listing of farm households will be until November 18, this year.

These are as follows: Zamboanga City, 41,550 households in 26 barangays; Zamboanga del Norte, 22,679 in 59 barangays; Zamboanga del Sur, 19,617 housholds covering 59 barangays; and, Zamboanga Sibugay, 16,328 in 39 barangays.

Belderol said the questions for the survey will include the respondents’ personal information; if they have a farm; if they are farm workers; if they have fruit trees or backyard garden; and if they are engaged in poultry raising.

He appealed to the respondents to provide the enumerators the accurate data.

He said the data will be the basis of program planners of the government concerning on the agriculture sector. (PNA)
